Jannou seeks to empower our members with financial responsibility and capability to get through all of life’s milestones and overcome obstacles to prosperity. We:
- Promote thrift among members by providing education in the efficient and effective management of their financial affairs, and providing the opportunity whereby the accumulation of savings can be effected educate members in the Co-operative principles and methods, in financial management and in the efficient and effective management of its affairs.
- Provide the opportunity for members to use and control their resources for their mutual benefit.
- Create from the savings of members and other businesses of the society, a source of credit available to members on reasonable terms and conditions for provident and productive purposes.
- Borrow money and invest in security as provided by the By Laws of Jannou Credit Union, subject to the provisions of the Act and Regulations.
- Draw, make, accept, endorse, discount, execute and issue Promissory Notes, Bills of Lading, Bills of Exchange, Bills of Sale, Warrants and other negotiable or transferable instruments.
- Pursue policies that would encourage growth in membership to the fullest extent possible.
- Undertake all other acts and things as are incidental or conducive to or consequential upon the attainment of the above objectives.
